Son of Mary Golladay and Peter Coverstone
Harvey enlisted in the Confederate militia in the summer of 1861. He was
discharged later that year to make iron.
He later enlisted in the 23rd Virginia Cavalry.
Harvey was married to Sarah A. Shipe with four living children at the start of the
Civil War. He had one child born during the war and three more born after the
war had ended.
In 1885, he made his living as a farmer near Mine Run Furnace.
Harvey was 78 years old when on died on 08 April 1905.
