Husband of Catherine Elizabeth Golladay
Samuel married Catherine Golladay on 07 November 1858. At the start of the war, they had one daughter.
He enlisted on 14 April 1862 and was assigned as a teamster
(wagoner) from 30 June1862 until September 1864.
Samuel was captured at Strasburg during the Battle of Fisher's
Hill on 22 September 1864. He became a prisoner of war and was sent to the Union
prison camp at Point Lookout, Maryland.
Samuel and Catherine
did not have any additional children during the war. After the war was over, two
more children were born. The first after the war was born in July of 1866.
In 1885, Samuel was a farmer living near Rinkerton. He died on
21 July 1909.

Virginia
