Cynthia was widowed when the 1860 census was taken. Her name appears to read "Sarah S." in this census, but this would seem to be an error. Her age, the age of her child William and her location in Lexington appear to confirm that this is Cynthia and not a different woman.

She was still living in Lexington when she got remarried after John's death to William G. Wright on 23 Apr 1867.

Cynthia was the daughter of James and Jane Moore. Her first husband John J. Golladay was the son of John Golladay and Ann Smith of Augusta County, VA. Her husband John died in January 1857, aged 34 years*.
