John Jacob Golladay
son of Jacob Shall Golladay and Elizabeth Cheatham

John died during the Civil War on April 20, 1863 at age 15. This death is mentioned in the diary of George Richard Browder:

April 21 - Was just going to look for my father expecting to be absent for several days when Mr Golladays messenger came requesting me to preach his son's funeral at 3 o'clock. It rained so constantly during & after the funeral that I did not get away, more especially as Mr Golladay in his grief insisted that I should stay. I tried as a minister to do my duty.

John was buried in the Maple Grove cemetery in Russellville, Kentucky.
