Lysander enlisted on 12 September 1861 and was discharged on 17 August 1864.

Lysander died of pneumonia at age 49 in Dayton, Ohio on 06 Oct 1876. Lysander's wife must have been on her deathbed on 30 Jan 1882 when an application was filled out to place their children (Lydia, Mary F. and Daisy M.) in the Ohio Soldiers & Sailors Orphans Home in Xenia.
 

   Buried at:  Woodland Cemetery & Arboretum in Dayton (Montgomery County), Ohio
